“Venezuela: Building Economic and Social Justice” is a program at The Evergreen State College (TESC) led by Peter Bohmer and Anne Fischel. In winter 2012, our program of around thirty students traveled to Venezuela for two months to build on our historical, cultural and political-economic studies of Venezuela in the fall. The purpose of this website is to communicate the experiences we had in Venezuela while building upon the relationships we established in Venezuela through international solidarity and advocacy. One of our main objectives has been to understand the recent developments in Venezuela that are described as the Bolivarian Revolution. Here you will find mostly information pertaining to the Bolivarian Revolution, as well as links to information on other developments in Latin America. It is our hope that this website can contribute to counterbalancing the lies and distortions surrounding Venezuela in mainstream sources. We want to be a bridge within and between other communities in the U.S. and Venezuela, so your contributions are encouraged and important.
We are a group of students and professors from the Evergreen State College who have been in a program called "Venezuela: Building Economic and Social Justice" and traveled to Venezuela.
